Random copolymers were obtained by hydrolytic condensation of dimethyldichlorosilane with dicyclopentyldichlorosilane or dicyclohexanedichlorosilane. Cyclic oligomers were used as precursors for ring opening polymerization (ROP) of cyclic oligomers to obtain block copolymers. Amberlyst-15 was used as the catalyst for ROP. Spectroscopic characterization of 1H, 13C-NMR, FTIR was used to identify either block or random structure of the copolymers. The glass transition temperature was obtained using DSC and rheological measurements.
